Job Description

  • Deploy and operate MWD tools integrated with CTD BHAs, ensuring high-fidelity data and directional control.
  • Conduct real-time gamma and directional logging; perform toolface orientation and support directional drillers.
  • Validate and calibrate MWD sensors pre-job; confirm full tool functionality prior to deployment.
  • Monitor telemetry (positive pulse, EM, or wired pipe), diagnose signal quality issues, and resolve tool failures.
  • Collaborate with DDs, CTD supervisors, and surface systems to optimize drilling performance.
  • Prepare accurate daily reports, surveys, BHA summaries, and end-of-well documentation.
  • Participate in rig-up/rig-down operations, surface integration testing, and communication checks.
  • Enforce strict HSE compliance and actively participate in site safety practices.
  • Provide technical support to clients and ensure service excellence throughout operations.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 7+ years of MWD field experience; minimum 2 years in CTD operations.
  • Deep knowledge of MWD tool physics, sensor deployment, and telemetry systems.
  • Experience with directional drilling practices and coordination.
  • Proficient in MWD software for tool setup, log generation, and data analysis.
  • Experience in deviated, horizontal, or multilateral wellbores is an asset.

  • Adaptable to remote rig locations, extended rotational work, and operational challenges.
